Mike Koenigs Interview

Episode 21: Mike Koenigs of InstantCustomer, TrafficGeyser, Main St Marketing and more!

I have been looking to interview Mike Koenigs for a while now. I originally got to know a lot about him after researching and using the Traffic Geyser video sharing software. This software makes it really easy to distribute your video content to multiple video sharing platforms. It really saves me a lot of time when it comes to distributing my video. Since the time I originally signed up, many more modules have been added to help get more traffic to your websites and increase distribution of different types of content. Yep, still works great today, even after all the google algorithm updates.

Since the time he put out Traffic Geyser, he has come up with numerous other marketing products, software programs and training systems. I could easily write a few thousand words on all of his different products, but I suggest you visit his website and find out all the details for yourself. I especially like his products page where you can find out all the details.  He is a best selling author, voted “Marketer of the Year” in 2009 and a recent cancer fighter and survivor.  He is also an electric car enthusiast and has owned one of the original Tesla Roadsters.  I am still waiting to get a ride and experience the ‘Tesla Smile’!

Instant Customer is an automated “cross-channel” marketing platform that captures leads with voice recognition, mobile, online and offline systems.  For over 20 years, Mike has worked with Sony Entertainment, 20th Century Fox, 3M, General Mills, Dominos Pizza, BMW, Ralston and Mazda.

Mike’s companies have produced eight consecutive online product launches with the largest grossing over $9.1 million dollars. He also generated over $3.1 million dollars in sales during a “direct to camera” live webcast.

You are really going to enjoy this episode!

Entrepreneur on Fire - John Lee Dumas

Episode 19: Interview with John Lee Dumas of Entreprenuer on Fire

We lit the place on fire!

John Dumas - Entrepreneur on FireIn this interview with John Lee Dumas of Entrepreneur on Fire we find out the motivating factor that took John Dumas from being a Commercial Real Estate broker to a full time podcaster.

With well over 250 episodes under his belt, John has been providing a daily podcast show where he interviews entrepreneurs to find out about their journey, sharing their early failures, AHA moments and providing insights about the techniques that are working for them right now.  I really enjoy the five question ‘Lightning Round’ at the end of the show where we learn specific techniques the entrepreneurs have used and that encourage fans and listeners to take action.

John has interviewed over 250 successful and inspiring entrepreneurs since September of 2012, including entrepreneurs Seth Godin, Pat Flynn, Gary Vaynerchuck, Barbara Corcoran, Tim Ferris and more.

One question has always been racking my brain and I finally got to ask it.  It is about all those GoToMeeting and Audacity offers that podcasters frequently use.  I don’t think it takes away from his show in any way, but I thought he could make more money by offering other affiliate products and services instead of those popular programs that usually pay around 10-15% per sale.  His answer surprised me and I am sure it is going to surprise you as well!!! He is rockin!

I hope you enjoy the vidcast and take action today by signing up to my newsletter so you can get notified of new interviews, step-by-step tutorials and special offers available through How To Earn Money TV.

Enjoy and get your fire started!

Episode 10 - Earn Money Online - Interview with Rob Merlino the HotDogMan

Episode 15: Interview with the HotDogMan

At the most recent Affiliate Summit Convention in Las Vegas, I was interviewed by the HotDogMan. He was conducting interviews with people and wanting to know if they put ketchup on their hot dogs. I was intrigued that this guy was just walking around the show floor with a video camera and tripod and interviewing tons of famous people as well as other show attendees right there in the middle of the convention.

Some of the people he popped the question to was Bruce Clay, DK, Erick Thomas, Jim Kukral, John Chow, Jon Spoelstra, Kirk Taylor, Matthew Lesko, Missy Ward, Shawn Collins, Shoe Money, Tricia Meyer, Wade Tonkin and many others.

You can watch his video from Affiliate Summit Below

He was having a great time and you could tell that he was very passionate about what he was doing. But I didn’t know why he was there. I just had to know his story and find out what he was up to so I asked him to do an interview with me.

He told me about his exiting life of running a hot dog truck business but unfortunately was unable to continue due to health issues and was forced to sell his business.

He started a blog called hotdogstories.com and thehotdogtruck.com where he blogged about the business and started making money from selling his information and placing affiliate links to related products and services on his website.

He also created a website dedicated about how to start a hot dog business at howtostartahotdogbusiness.com. What a great idea!

It is a really amazing story and he has a lot going on. I can only imagine he will get a cable tv show soon. He was very laid back and it was nice to hang out with him during the conference.

He is also one lucky man and took home a sizable winning just prior to leaving the convention! What a great trip.

Make sure to check out his websites, they are inspiring and really gives you an idea of what you can do when blogging and making money online by following your passions.

Enjoy!

1 & 1 hosting sucks

Episode 14: Affiliate Marketing and the 1&1 Web Hosting Slap

In this episode I provide a little more information on my latest and greatest income stream.  It is not completely passive, but it sure brings in the money!

About 8 months ago, a fellow appraiser and I built a private marketing forum for real estate appraisers.  By sticking to a niche that we both know a lot about, we are able to help other appraisers learn how to market their appraisal businesses.

Sticking to a niche that you are an expert will give you the ability to create a lot of high value content that your potential customers are sure to love.  Also by sticking to a very targeted and small niche, it is fairly easy to identify potential users and target them with your marketing.

I also talk about how I use my experiences with website hosting to make some extra money online.  If you are looking for wordpress hosting you have probably come across a number of providers for hosting.  A while back I tried 1&1 Hosting and the service really sucked.  A few years went by and then I decided to try them again and got the same incredibly poor service.  The servers were so incredibly slow that I decided to make a few short video clips bashing 1&1 hosting because they sucked so bad.

The whole idea behind these videos are to potentially rank for various keywords related to 1&1 web hosting and inform people that THEY SUCK and they should use a server provider like Blue Host which I mention in the video.

By providing an honest review of 1&1 Hosting and then providing a good alternative, the video has made a fair amount of sales.  Of course there is a lot to getting videos to rank for very high competition keywords, but I will cover more on YouTube marketing in the future.

So I hope you enjoy my 1&1 hosting server slap!  If you have any questions, please post them below under comments.

Thanks!

Don Campbell Interview about Local Search Marketing

Episode 13: Local Search Marketing Interview with Don Campbell

In this episode I have an interview with Don Campbell from Expand2Web.com.   I pulled him aside at the recent Affiliate Summit West 2012 convention. I was able to talk to him about the exciting opportunities entrepreneurs have with local search marketing and being a local search marketing expert.

During the convention, he hosted an open table discussion and spoke to others interested in local search marketing and being a local search consultant. His weekly seminars and classes teach you everything you need to know from search engine optimization, social marketing, local search directories, how to build a website and mobile marketing.

For a small business on a limited budget you can handle all of your local marketing with the information that is provided on his website. Don has also created a very easy to use WordPress plug-in that is optimized for mobile as well. It is easy enough to install yourself and get it set up on any website, but he now offers a complete hosting solution.

You can sign up to his cloud services and have a website ready to go in a matter of minutes. The Small Business theme comes pre-installed and you just have to go through the steps to customize if for your needs.

Expand2Web provides tools, training and services for small business owners and small business consultants. They specialize in WordPress Websites, Local Search Optimization (SEO) and Social Media for small businesses.

Don Campbell is an expert when it comes to local search marketing and I hope to do more interviews with him in the near future. You can find out more about his awesome membership site where you can learn all the ins and outs of local marketing at http://www.expand2web.com.

Episode 4a - Make Money Online

Episode 12: Currently My Biggest Income Stream

I have been creating income streams online for a long time now, so I have built up numrous income streams over the years. Some bring in only a few hundred a month while others bring in thousands. In this episode I talk about one of my largest income streams right now

My Income Streams

I started a blog about 5 years ago where I blog about industry news and topics related to real estate appraisers. The blog is located at Appraiserincome.com and this is one of my best ones right now. This is also one of the first blogs where I really started from scratch and I really took my time to build it out. I did not know which direction I was going to take it in the beginning and of course I started off with hard selling. Eventually I decided to work my personality in to the blog and focused on delivering good content. The change really increased the sales on my blog and it has become a huge success, especially over the past couple of years.

If you are an expert in an area or have a lot of knowledge about a certain topic, there is almost always a way to montetize it. You can offer affiliate programs or create a directory of services, products and providers to make it easy to locate the information in your area of expertise.

That is essentially what I did with AppraiserIncome.com and it has provided a great income over the past 3-4 years. Although it is no longer my greatest income stream, it did lead me in the direction to produce my largest income stream yet! I will be providing more on that ‘new business’ later.

I hope you enjoy this episode!

AFF Playbook Affiliate Forum

Episode 11: Interview with David Ford of AFF Playbook

I have been a member of a really great Affiliate Forum for almost a year now and was recently able to attend a private Mastermind meet-up during Affiliate Summit West 2013 hosted by David Ford, the owner and operator of AFF Playbook.

During the 4 hour Mastermind, David gave the members a lot of really great ideas when it comes to making money online and shared some of his current techniques he uses to generate revenue online.  The mastermind had a number of different speakers that gave some really valuable information and I thought it would be great to interview him for How To Earn Money

TV.  We weren’t able to conduct the interview while we were in Vegas so we did it over skype about a week after the convention.

If you would like to learn more about AFF Playbook, I urge you to visit the website to find out more after watching this interview.  There are so many supportive members that offer help, encouragement and support when you are stuck during your quest to earn money online.

Affiliate Summit Party

Episode 10: PARTY in Las Vegas – Affiliate Summit West 2013

It has been a while since I have had all nighters in Las Vegas, but Affiliate Summit West 2013 had so many private meet-ups and hosted parties that I found myself out almost every night until the crack of dawn.

I really took advantage of all the networking opportunities at this years Affiliate Summit West.  With an abundance of numerous private and ASW sponsor parties and events, I met a large number of people in a very small amount of time.  It really was amazing.

Unfortunately I was unable to record at any of the sessions as it is not allowed, but I was able to set up many interviews that I will be conducting and releasing over the next few weeks.

You can learn a lot by going to the sessions at Affiliate Summit, but depending on your experience level, you might be able to learn more and advanced techniques by attending mastermind meet-ups and by networking with others currently making a living online.

So for this video I decided to show you some of the fun I had while out in Vegas!

I hope you enjoy the video!

Jeremy Shoemoney Shoemaker Interview - Affiliate Summit West 2012

Episode 9: Interview with Affiliate Expert Shoemoney

Jeremy Shoemaker is possibly one of the most well know affiliate marketers on the internet. I had the opportunity at a recent Affiliate Summit West convention to interview Jeremy – better known as Shoemoney. He has been one of the top affiliate marketers and is very popular due to his famous Google Adwords affiliate commission check. He has been making money online and sharing his experiences online for over 10 years now.

I have been following from the beginning of his career by checking out his posts on the various affiliate message boards, listening to his podcasts on webmaster radio and frequently checking his blog posts. Back then he was one of the first websites to show up when searching for ‘make money online’ in the search engines.

You can see historic google check below for $132,000. Everyone was amazed, he was rocking the system and google loved him for it.

Shoemoney Adsense Commission Check – Earn Money Online

In the interview at Affiliate Summit, Shoemoney gave us some background on how he got in to the industry, how he started making money online and why his keynote will most likely be the last keynote he is ever going to do at a convention. Is Shoemoney retiring? No, but you will have to listen to find out what this is all about!

You can find out more about Shoemoney and what he has been up to lately at http://www.shoemoney.com/

Thanks again for watching! Enjoy!

Episode 3a - Make Money Online

Episode 7: Setting Goals and Chunking

In this episode I talk about the benefits of setting realistic goals and organizing your TO-DO list in to easy to manage chunks.  I also talk about some Mind Mapping software that will help you organize your thoughts so you have an easy to follow game plan to earn money online.

You Need to Set Goals to Earn Money Online

As an entrepreneur you know it is sometimes difficult to stay on focused and it is easy to become overwhelmed with all the tasks that need to be completed.  Bright and shiny objects come along all the time taking our focus away from the tasks at hand and causing distractions.

By staying focused, creating simple to follow to-do lists and creating a mindmap of your project, you will get your tasks completed on time.  Just remember to focus on one project at a time as this will increase the odds of you actually finish a project instead of being left with a bunch of unfinished projects.

Since I have been making money online for a while now, I tend to focus my main goals in monetary terms, like make $10 a day by July 10th, $10,000 a month on my membership site, etc..

But when you are getting started, you should focus on the tasks on hand.

Chunk, Chunk, keep Chunking away and you will complete your projects

  • You can set monetary goals, but lets start with even simpler goals.
  • Research Niches of interest
  • Make List of 10 Niches
  • Check for available domain names
  • Narrow Down List
  • Decide on 1 Niche and 1 Domain Name
  • Get Hosting and Buy Domain Name (Blue Host)
  • Install WordPress Blog
  • Etc…

The idea here is to break down the entire task so you are not sitting around wondering if you are doing things in the right order.  Eventually you will be able to break down your large tasks or goals in to smaller chunks that won’t need to be broken down further.  By that point you will know how to do the keyword research, and of course you will never buy a domain name without doing it first.

If you are going to need to outsource tasks, put that down on your list and find people to complete that portion of the project before you get there.  Also… If you have a few extra bucks, pay people to do the little tasks that you don’t have any idea on how to complete.

Recently I needed a shopping cart installed on one of my websites.  I also needed 10 products in the store and for payments to be accepted through Paypal-Pro, paypals merchant account…

I hired someone on Odesk to do it.  Saved me a TON of time and was only $100.00.  I actually wasted about 2 months just putting it on the back burner, then I finally decided not to do it myself and the task got completed in about 4 days.  There are a lot of tasks like this.  If you don’t know how to do it, pay someone that does to do it for you if you really have no idea.

Do not set arbitrary deadlines like:

1. build website by 06/01

2. produce video and share on YouTube by Monday

This just don’t work.  Believe me!  Each task you complete, you will feel great and you will be on your way to earning money online!

Mind Mapping

Another great tip that might help you is some excellent software called MindMeister. It is really simple to use and you can also find pre-made maps that will help you to publish a book, do keyword research online or create passive streams of income.  I really don’t mess around looking at everyone elses mind-maps out there, but I do use the software myself to map out my projects.

One of the best things is that my to-do lists tend to get forgotten or just too large.  The Mind Maps that you create in MindMeister look very nice and you can print them out, tack them to the wall and just start going down the list.  You can also open up the map at any time to add and remove steps.  You can easily create a project flowchart and assign parts to other people if you have others working on your project.

I hope that gives you some good ideas on getting organized, setting goals, chunking your to-do list down and possibly even using mind-mapping software like MindMeister.

Working on the next episode right now, so I have to run!

Install Wordpress In Minutes

Episode 6: How to Install a WordPress Blog in Minutes

There are many reasons to use WordPress as the foundation for your websites.  You can easily set it up as a static website or in the blog format where you have exerpts of your recent blog posts on your main page which usually links to additional categories of blog posts.  The best reason to set up wordpress as your website is that it is already formatted to be indexed properly in Google and it is very easy to set up.

  • Easy to set up
  • Easy to use
  • Easy to customize
  • Can Be in blog format
  • Can set up in Static format
  • Basically optimized and ready to go

My tutorial will show you how to set up a wordpress website in a matter of minutes.  It is super easy, I promise!

It is so easy to just get started.  You hear me saying that all the time.  Don’t worry too much about the domain name, keyword research or anything at this point.  If you don’t have a niche website idea right now, think of a passion or just create a blog for relatives to check out.  This will at least get you started with building a blog and learning how the software works.

So pick a name, get hosting and install your wordpress blog.  Last time I checked, Blue Host gives you a free domain name when you sign up for their hosting.  I use blue host and they have very reliable and fast servers.  Check them out by going to: MyBlueHosting.Com

If you have a good idea of the niche you would like to target and you have done your keyword research, then get the domain and get it built.  You will be on your way in no  time at all!

In my upcoming tutorials I am going to create a niche website on one of my passions.  It will have a blog and also a shopping cart where I will sell affiliate products related to the industry that I will be targeting.  Because I don’t have a TON of extra time right now, most likely I will attempt to outsource most of the article writing.  We will see how this all works out!

So stay tuned and I hope you enjoy this short video on how to install a wordpress blog in minutes.

If you are looking for a great place to host your wordpress blog with 1 click wordpress installs, then visit http://www.mybluehosting.com.
